Where do I download the app?

I am unable to download the app on any of the platforms. Do I need a special account to download it?

No, anyone with or without an account can download the app. Please ensure that you have an internet connection before attempting to download our app from the links above.

I am unable to install the app on Windows.

Please ensure your Windows is equipped with Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013 before you proceed with the installation. Please ensure you have downloaded and installed the correct version.

The app automatically shut down on its own.

If crashes happen too frequently, please proceed to uninstall the app and do a fresh installation. If the reinstallation does not help, please contact our support team for further assistance.

Can I use the app on a shared device?

Yes. Please log out of your account after each session.

I will be upgrading to a newer device. What should I do?

You might want to uninstall your app on the current device to prevent any form of discrepancies. To start using the app on your new device, all you need to do is to download the app, log into your account and start downloading the books.

I have just reformatted my device, and the log in page now says that I have an invalid login even though I am using the same device before reformatting.

Some devices change its device ID when the device is reset to factory settings, thus you will have to delete your previous device ID to prevent login restriction.

To remove device records, please refer to the following instructions.

  1. Log in to https://shinglee.ready.sg/
  2. Click the top right gear setting icon.
  3. Click “Manage Device.”
  4. Delete unwanted device(s) record.
  5. Log in from your new device/s. It will register your new device to your account.

Access Codes

How do I activate the codes?

Please click on the 'Activate' tab on your app for all platforms to activate your codes. You are only required to activate each code once, and the activated books will be tagged to your account.

The log in page says that I have an invalid code.

Please ensure that your code has not been used, and that you have entered the code correctly.

I’ve entered the code correctly, but the login page still says that I have an invalid code.

Please contact our support team for further assistance.

Where do I get the access codes?

The book I got from the code is different from the one I purchased.

I have keyed in the access code and clicked Confirm, but there were no books on my dashboard.

Click on ‘My books’ and refresh the page.

Accessing books

How do I read a book?

Click on the book you would like to read, and you will be brought to the next page where you will see all the chapters of the book. Click on the chapter(s) to start downloading it/them. Once a chapter is fully downloaded, a green tick will appear on the bottom right-hand corner. Click on it to read it.

I would like to download all the chapters, but it says I can only download 3 chapters at a time.

To ensure maximum user experience, the system will only allow you to download only 3 chapters at any one time.

I've tried to open a book but it returns an error message.

The book might have been corrupted during the downloading process. Please delete the book from your device and start a fresh download. If it still does not fix your problem, please do a reinstallation of the app. Please refer to the User Guide to learn how to delete books from your devices.

I accidentally deleted my books.

Deleting books off the devices will NOT deactivate the books from your device, all you have to do is to re-download the books.

I accidentally archived my books. I’m now unable to locate them.

You will be able to unarchive your archived books from 'Manage Books' on Windows, and 'Archive' tab on iOS.

I have too many books on ‘My Books’. Can I categorise them according to my preference?

Yes, you can create many collections based on your preference. Please refer to the User Guide for more information.

I have added a few books into a new collection that I have created, but I would like to remove one of the books!

The app has too many books. I cannot find the book I wish to read.

You might want to utilise the search function to search for the desired book. Please note that the search is based on the current page/window you are in.

I launched the app today and found out that one of the books has been greyed out. When I clicked on it, it says that the book has expired. What should I do?

The validity period of the book may have expired. You will have to purchase a new code to extend its validity. If you are sure this is an error, please contact our support team for further assistance.

I launched the app today and a pop-up says that my books will expire in 7 days. What should I do?

The app will prompt you when your books are due to expire within the next 7 days. If you are sure this is an error, please contact our support team for further assistance.

Am I able to see when the validity period of my books will end?

Yes, you may click on 'Expiry' tab to access this list.

Why has the green tick changed to an icon of a blue cloud?

There is an update to the book. Click on the book to start updating it.

How will I know if there are updates to my books?

Refresh the dashboard. All books with updates will display an icon of a blue cloud.

Within the book

Swiping through the pages can be tiring. Is there another way to go to the next page?

You are able to access a page directly by clicking on the page number. Alternatively, you may click on the left and right arrows to navigate the pages.

I’ve drawn some notes and placed some sticky notes on my book. Will they be deleted if I swipe to the next page or close the app?

No, everything will be remain intact until you delete them. Please refer to our User Guide for more information.

Can I add bookmarks?

Yes, you may click on the bookmark icon to save a bookmark. Our app also allows you to save a note to each bookmark you have saved. Please refer to our User Guide for more information.

I accidentally added a bookmark to a page. Can I delete it?

You may delete the bookmark by clicking the ‘X’ button. Please refer to our User Guide for more information.

I am unable to load a particular page completely. What should I do?

It might have been corrupted during the download process. Please delete the book and download it again.

Can I search for specific words/terms within the book?

Yes, you may click on the search icon within the book to search for words. The system will display the results with the page. You may click on the results to navigate to specific pages.

How do I go back to my books?

Click on the icon at the top left-hand corner to go back to 'My Books'.
